Frequently Asked Questions

Full Container Load (FCL), Less-than-Container Load (LCL), roll-on/roll-off, breakbulk, project cargo, and refrigerated (reefer) shipments. We coordinate the full door-to-door process, including drayage, documentation, and customs clearance to ensure a smooth and efficient shipment from origin to destination.

Choose FCL when your shipment volume is close to a full container, when faster transit and reduced handling are priorities, or when cargo requires added protection. LCL is better suited for smaller, recurring shipments where consolidation helps reduce overall cost. At Logico, we evaluate both options against your delivery timeline, budget, and service requirements to recommend the most efficient solution.

  • Ocean containers are typically available in three standard sizes:

    • 20’ Ocean Container – A 20-foot container has external dimensions of approximately 20’ L x 8’ W x 8’6” H (6.10m x 2.44m x 2.59m). Internal space is slightly reduced due to wall thickness, measuring about 19’4” L x 7’8” W x 7’10” H (5.89m x 2.33m x 2.40m).
    • 40’ Ocean Container – A standard 40-foot container measures approximately 40’ L x 8’ W x 8’6” H (12.19m x 2.44m x 2.59m) externally. Internal dimensions are roughly 39’6” L x 7’8” W x 7’10” H (12.03m x 2.35m x 2.39m).
    • 40’ High Cube (HC/HQ) Container – A 40-foot high cube container has external dimensions of 40’ L x 8’ W x 9’6” H (12.19m x 2.44m x 2.90m), with internal dimensions of approximately 39’6” L x 7’9” W x 8’10” H (12.03m x 2.36m x 2.69m), offering additional vertical capacity for taller or more efficiently stacked cargo.

For non-standard cargo requirements, Logico can also arrange specialized equipment such as open-top, flat rack, or other project-specific container types based on your shipment needs.

Transit times vary depending on the trade lane and transshipment points along the route. In most cases, ocean freight should be planned in weeks rather than days. Additional time must also be considered for port handling, terminal dwell, and first- and last-mile transportation.

At Logico, we align transit planning with your required delivery date and proactively build in buffers around known congestion points to help ensure reliable and predictable arrival performance.

A commercial invoice, packing list, and bill of lading are typically required as standard documentation. Depending on the commodity and trade lane, additional documents such as certificates of origin, permits, or regulatory licenses may also be necessary.

At Logico, we ensure all documentation is properly prepared, verified, and coordinated with carriers and customs brokers to support smooth and compliant international movement.

For U.S.-bound ocean imports, the Importer Security Filing (ISF) must be submitted prior to vessel loading at the origin port.

At Logico, we can support this process through our customs brokerage services or coordinate directly with your appointed customs broker to ensure timely filing and avoid delays in shipment movement.
